{"id":9,"date":"2008-12-21T19:06:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-21T19:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.13creative.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/wedding-porn.html"},"modified":"2008-12-21T19:06:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-21T19:06:00","slug":"wedding-porn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.13creative.com\/blog\/2008\/12\/wedding-porn.html","title":{"rendered":"Wedding Porn"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><\/div>\n<p>When I first met my husband \u2014 before he was my husband, when he was just my boyfriend, or soon thereafter my\u00a0roommate\u00a0\u2014 we would get into bed at night and read books or magazines before falling asleep.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Brad always liked to read 700+ page historical biographies about ex-presidents, and other more &#8220;brainy&#8221; works of non-fiction. \u00a0These books challenged him, but bored me! \u00a0I would sit up in bed next to Brad, night after night, reading instead the latest issues of Martha Stewart Weddings, Modern Bride, Elegant Bride, Your Wedding Day and just about any other wedding-focused (read: obsessed) periodical I could get my hands on!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As you might imagine, this <span class=\"Apple-style-span\" style=\"font-weight: bold;\">seriously<\/span> concerned Brad! \u00a0What sort of freak had he started dating&#8230;? \u00a0No talk of the future had been discussed, no serious milestones had been reached, and yet I was getting into bed with bridal magazines every night&#8230; I think Brad was fairly convinced that I was planning our wedding (a few years ahead of schedule!)<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>When we talked about it, I would try to put his mind at ease, and I always insisted that it was for &#8220;work&#8221;&#8230; I was getting inspired, staying in the know, following the trends&#8230; being a &#8220;responsible&#8221; designer. \u00a0How dare he suggest otherwise. \u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>One night as we were getting into bed with my stack of magazines, he said (pointing to my mags) &#8220;You know what that is? \u00a0It&#8217;s &#8220;Wedding Porn!&#8221; \u00a0I laughed till my ribs hurt, so did he. It was the truth, it couldn&#8217;t be denied! \u00a0I was addicted to Wedding Porn.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Three years, tons of invites &amp; client weddings, one big fabulous wedding of my own and one small miracle baby later, not much has changed. \u00a0Several days a month, the postman delivers my &#8220;Wedding Porn&#8221; right to the front door, for all the world to see. \u00a0Lincoln minds, but he&#8217;s really the only one! \u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I first met my husband \u2014 before he was my husband, when he was just my boyfriend, or soon thereafter my\u00a0roommate\u00a0\u2014 we would get into bed at night and read books or magazines before falling asleep.
